When I started this website, I had hoped that I would be able to post at least a couple of messages a month within its blog, if not more. Unfortunately my work has developed much slower than that. Initially I also had a clear idea of what this blog should be about. It should be about my own vision of Isian theology as opposed to those of the alternative spiritual communities generally. I was hoping to be able to logically present a broad vision of Isian henotheistic theology. To a certain extend I have been able to summarize important aspects of Isian theology on my home page but that is about as far as I have gotten. The problem is that both personal issues and the new ideas (it is too early to refer to these ideas as inspirations -they may be bad ideas actually) keep getting in my way. Therefore for the last few days I have decided to make some changes regarding how this blog will wor
First the articulation of an alternative theology of Isis will continue. However it will continue intermittently as significant ideas and inspirations hit me. I doubt that as new ideas come to me that they will flow in a constant direction nor in a constant pace. Neither will my posts normally be developed in any purely logical order.
Now as far as future content goes, Isis still holds central place in this blog. However there is a lot to life which can be understood without direct reference to Isian or any other theology. For example I started new article a few days ago which will take a while to complete. This article will be regarding the conflict between those who claim to be “spiritual but not religious” and of course those who while recognizing that religion, while having many sins to account for, always has had and still has a necessary role in life.
Another of the ideas that I wish to discuss will be about my own understanding of the Perennialist theology. Perennialism is the perspective that most if not all of the major religions of the world have as a common source a divine origin within the being of God / Thea, in spite of the fact that these religions often have significant differences. These are just two subjects which I want to discuss sometime soon.
Finally I want to start sharing selections from a body of literature that has been at the center of my own daily devotions for a while now. These are a collection of redacted (reworked by myself) psalms from a medieval work called the Psalter of the Blessed Virgin Mary. I call these reworked hymns “Psalms of Thea” because to a significant degree they express much of how I relate to Thea / God. Not only do I think that they are beautiful prayers, are deeply meaningful, and express ways of relating to the world, and to Isis / Thea. They also express many of the ideal goals or possibilities of life. Any way I hope that by sharing these psalms that some may find within them something of beauty but also of spiritual value.
A last word periodically I also plan simply to discuss subjects here which are simply important to me or which I have enjoyed. These can be books which I have read or movies for example which I have enjoyed These may be without any reference the themes discussed so far. Thus in general this will be a multipurpose blog in which issues of Isis as Thea will dominate but not be all that is discussed.
An Alternative Isianism

O holy and eternal saviour of humankind, ever-bountiful in cherishing mortal beings, bringing a mother’s sweet affections to the miseries of the wretched. No day, no night, not even an instant passes empty of your beneficence, you who protect men on land and sea, who extend your saving hand and dispel life’s tempests, quelling Fortune’s storms, untwisting the inextricable windings of Fate, restricting the planets’ harmful aspects. The powers above adore you, the powers below pay you reverence. You set the globe spinning, fuel the sun, command the universe and press Tartarus beneath our feet. You the stars obey; for you the seasons turn, in you the deities rejoice, and you it is that all the elements serve. At your order breezes sigh, clouds yield nourishment, seeds quicken and seedlings grow. The birds flying in the sky, the wild beasts that prowl the mountains, the serpents that lurk underground, the very monsters of the deep tremble at your power……

Isis, giver of life, residing in the Sacred Mound, Satis, Lady of Biggeh:
She is the one who pours out the Inundation
That makes all people live and green plants grow,
Who provides divine offerings for the gods,
And invocation-offerings for the Transfigured Ones.
Because she is the Lady of Heaven,
Her man is the Lord of the Netherworld,
Her son is Lord of the Land,
Her man is the pure water, rejuvenating himself in Biggeh in his time.
Indeed, She is the Lady of Heaven, Earth, and the Netherworld,
Having brought them into existence through what her heart conceived and
her hands created,
She is the ba that is in every city,
Watching over her son Horus and her brother Osiris.

A Differing Vision
When I began this website I had initially hoped to to write a detailed statement on the opening page regarding my understanding of Isis / Aset first known within Ancient Egypt. For various reasons, I have not been able to do this. In stead I have decided to write a series of brief statements regarding my beliefs about Isis based on my understanding of certain aspects of the Isian tradition and my experience as a devotee. It is probable that over time, I will be expand this opening page periodically as the need arises. But for now this is what I have.
Please note. My attitudes and beliefs regarding Isis are not in general those of most persons. It is clear to me that most interpret the significance of Isis quite differently than do I and thus they will disagree with many of my understandings. I certainly anticipate the nature of many of these objections, but now is not the time to deal with them. They will be dealt with as the need arises. Now to the statements:
One – I believe in the Graeco Roman vision of Isis as held by persons such as Apuleius and Isidorus that Isis is the All Goddess / Panthea) of which all other goddesses are aspects and or names.
Two – I believe that Isis is the panentheistic and universal Goddess who sustains the universe by her omnipresence within all that exists. Contrary wise all exists within Her. Thus she is the dominant force within the universe insuring its order and existence.
Three – I believe that not only does Isis dominate the physical universe but that she also is the Savioress of humankind and all other beings. Her saving action exists through her Ma’at i.e. her justice, law, truth, etc. Her Maat along with her wisdom and guidance effects both the the earthly, physical realm but also extends beyond death and tio all other worlds.
Four – I believe that Isis is the Creator of Heaven, Earth and the Netherland as is stated in her fourth hymn on the walls of her temple of Philae.
Six – Based on her universal love and goodness, I believe that it is logical to believe that Isis desires and works for a transformation of this earth so that her justice, love, and goodness will be experienced and lived by humans generally. Thus racial and ethnic injustices, sexual / gender injustices, all forms of economic, social, political oppression, ecocide, climate change, etc have no rightful place within the Dominion of Isis. Isis works to create the world and transform the world. This work has been occurring from the beginning of time. While Isis is the primary Creator she shares this work with all of creation and created beings humans and all other forms of life are certainly involved if not necessarily knowingly. This creation and its transformation does not happen magically, nor will it be as a result of some New Age transformation of consciousness. It will be the result of the work of all of creation of which humanity is a an important part lead by the spirit of Isis. It will be a spiritual, physical, and political transformation.
PS. This page is still in an incomplete state and aspects of it are unedited. Thus I would advise persons to periodically return to it to see new developments.
Toward an Isian devotionalism
I started out with a broad vision of Isis however religions are not just about broad explanatory visions. Religions are also about how they are actually practiced in the real life of an individual, family, or community. Encloses is a list of significant aspects of present day Isian faith.
One – A devotional faith. Isis is not simply one goddess or god of many. She is the creator of the heavens, earth, and the netherland ( the realm beyond death). She is the highest deity of which all other deities are aspects or emanations. So her followerers should place her first within their thoughts, worship, love, and service. Obedience to her will is central. There is no equality no mere friendship between Isis and her devotees.
Two – Isis is the Goddess of joy. Thus she desire that her followers have the fullesst fulfillment and joy in their lives as possible. Her will is ultimately equivalent to her love. She desires nothing which will cause harm, chaos, and destruction. Look up the laws of Maat to see something of the direction of her will.
Three. Because Isis has many names and aspects, an Isian can legitimately call upon another diety if that diety represents a certain aspect of Isis. Thus Atanna the goddess of power and civilization, Maat the goddess of law, justice and righteousness, and Anahita the goddess of the waters can be seen as aspects or emanations of Isis Thus they can be worshiped or called upon in daily life to help one relate to Isis’ nature or will . But these goddess perhaps better referred to as being Janyas or Yazidis or even Angels as alternative personal of Isis herself or as servants of her will. They are not independent of Her nor do their actions conflict with her will. Instead the work to fulfill her will.
Four – Praise and Worship is central. Isis is not just a deity that one works with primarily in accordence with ones own often selfish will. It is not merely a symbol of feminine or personal power. She is goodness itself, and ultimate the sourse of all good, all beauty, all justice, all love, of all beings, of all salvations. Thus praise and worship is her due.
Fifth – thus to live in relation to Isis means that prayer, quiet sitting, and devotional readings etc should be incorporated into one life.
Sixth – Isis is justice. Try to act justly and morallly in ones life. This has political implications. As life in relation to Isis such be a life in which one support the just struggles of the oppressed and opposse opression of all kinds that would incluse all kinds of racial ethnic, class, gender or sexual oppressions.
Seven – Etc. I have just listed 6 prominaten aspect so Isian practice no doubt I could make a much more detailed list than this one but I see no reason to overload. In future blog posts I will deal with many of these issue much more thoroughly
